Dr. Theodore Malinin graduated as an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and completed his fellowship at the University of Virginia and University of Cambridge.

Dr. Malinin has written more than 200 articles on bone grafting, and has acted as a bone expert for major national news media. Dr. Malinin has been instrumental in the founding Tissue Banks all over North America.

Dr. Arun K. Garg, DMD
Dr. Arun K. Garg, DMD Dr. Arun K. Garg completed his engineering and also his dental degree at the University of Florida and subsequently completed his residency training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Garg served as a full-time Professor of Surgery in the Division of Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine, and also served as Director of the Residency Training Program for 18 years. Currently he is on the visiting faculty at the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry, and has located his private practice for patient care in the Aventura area of Miami.

Dr. Garg has authored 3 well-recognized textbooks, which have currently been translated into 8 different languages, and has published well over 80 articles, and more than 12 book chapters. He is editor of a monthly newsletter, Dental Implantology Update, and serves on the editorial boards of 4 other leading journals. He is the immediate past
president of the largest implant association in the world with over 12,000 members, the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists).

H. Thomas Temple, M.D. H. Thomas Temple, M.D., is Vice Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of Orthopaedics at the University of Miami Hospital. He is the Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer of the University of Miami Tissue Bank and holds the title of Professor of Orthopaedics and Pathology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Temple received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed an Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He trained in Orthopaedic Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Temple is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association, the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the International Skeletal Society, the American Association of Tissue Banks, theGirdlestone Society and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has been a site reviewer for the
Residency Review Committee and an Examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice and a fellowship training program, Dr. Temple has been an outstanding contributor to teaching efforts at the University of Miami. He received the Orthopaedic Resident Education Award in 1999 and has hosted and chaired numerous medical review courses.

Dr. Temple has authored over 150 scientific articles and book chapters. He is an Assistant Editor for Foot and Ankle International, a long-standing reviewer for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. As the Director of the University of Miami Tissue Bank he is on the physician counsel of the American Association of Tissue Banks.

Rolf Ewers, D.D.S., Ph.D., M.D.
H. Thomas Temple, M.D. Dr. Ewers is Chairman and Head of the University Hospital of Cranio-Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery of the Medical School, University of Vienna, Austria. He was Chairman of the 17th International Conference on Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Vienna, Austria, August 2005. He received the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation Research Recognition Award 2005, and has over 100 scientific publications.
 
Dr. Robert A. Horowitz
H. Thomas Temple, M.D. Dr. Robert A. Horowitz graduated from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1982 having concentrated in periodontics and fixed prosthodontics. After completion of a one-year general practice residency, Dr. Horowitz finished a 2 year specialty training program in periodontics at New York University and the Manhattan VA Hospital. He began placing dental implants after taking implant surgery courses nationally and internationally in 1985. In 1996, Dr. Horowitz completed a 2 year fellowship program in Implant Surgery at New York University concentrating in bone grafting procedures. As a Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, he teaches and conducts research in bone grafting. He is also on faculty and conducts research in the departments of Oral Surgery, Biomaterials and Biomimetics and Oral Diagnosis at NYU. Dr. Horowitz has lectured and published nationally and internationally. He has performed research in bone grafting, extraction socket augmentation and the placement of dental implants in areas of limited available bone. Current research includes prospective, multi-center, international studies on a number of bone replacement materials.
Dr. Horowitz is currently conducting research on bone graft materials and growth factors for use in periodontology, ridge and sinus augmentation, extraction socket therapy and other aspects of implant dentistry. Some of the growth factors increase the speed and predictability of new bone attaching to the root surface in a periodontal lesion. Other growth factors improve the ingrowth of vital bone in the area of a recent tooth extraction or in the part of the jaw where a significant amount of bone has been lost due to periodontal disease, trauma or prior extractions.
Dr. Horowitz lectures to national and international groups on many topics including Increasing Case Acceptance Through Digital Technology, Extraction Environment Enhancement, Periodontal Therapy – Surgical and Non-Surgical Alternatives, Laser Enhanced Periodontal Therapy, Piezosurgery to Improve Predictability of Surgical Treatment, Narrow Diameter Implants, Updates on Bone Grafting – materials and techniques, Predictable Bone Regeneration, Root Coverage – indications, techniques, materials and 2D and 3D Evaluation and Diagnosis to Improve Therapy.
